Well, i might be a bit slow but i would still like topost about it - My NPP (Ngee Ann poly Preparatory Programme) camp!!
NPP camp lasted for 3 days 2 nights, from 14 to 16 jan and it was simply awesome!! i was in team 6 and our group name is "The Great Awesome Ones" and i seriously think that our group live up to the name. during the camp, we were given a lot of freedom which was quite different from secondary school camp. we also had the opportunities to bond with each other, such as through group activities and social time before sleeping. one great thing is that we can sleep at any time we like as long as we are able to wake up in the morning and not disturb the others. we were also taught quite a number of things that i think it would be useful for poly life. for example, we were taught that we have to make our own choices and not be influenced by peer pressure and the differences between respond and react. we also learned that we have to speak up in poly and fight for our own rights. (which means that i have to learn to speak up from now on)
Our accommodation for the 2 nights is at the Loft @ 94, an apartment block opposite NP. its a chalet-like apartment and we each had our own bed with air-conditioner. its the best place that i have ever stayed for camp. it was also the first time that we do not have to fight for the toilet and can take our own sweet time to bath without people knocking on your door asking you to hurry.
On the second night, we had BBQ, instead of the typical campfire that we used to have. we were also given money to buy our food and BBQ equipments at the nearby shops. after the BBQ, we had our social time!! we met up at the void deck as we were not allowed to go to the guys rooms and vice versa. on the third day, we went to our rescpective schools and met the director and lecturers. we also had briefing on our timetable and had a tour around the schools.
We will be starting our lessons tml and im looking forward to it. my first lesson for tml would be Creative And Applied Thinking Skills (CATS) and Sports and Wellness (snw) after that. [i thought we would be able to escape PE in poly. but who knows... :(] my snw option is dancesport where i will be learning ball room dancing. AND AND AND.. i am the only one there!! sob!!i chose differently from my friends as i really like that option as compared to the others. no peer pressure. its my choice.
Hahax!! im really looking forward to tml lessons and i hope that poly life would be an easy one.
